Neck Pain
Chiropractic care for acute stiffness and strain. Non-surgical decompression for the disc and nerve issues that keep it coming back.
What Is Neck Pain?
Neck pain is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints in the United States, and it affects patients in Ocean and Monmouth County at every age. It can present as localized stiffness and soreness, or it can radiate into the shoulders, arms, and hands — a pattern known as cervical radiculopathy.
Like back pain, neck pain has two very different origins. Acute episodes are often caused by muscle strain, poor posture, sleeping position, or sudden injury. Chronic or recurring neck pain is frequently rooted in a structural problem with the cervical discs — a herniated disc, bulging disc, or degenerative disc disease that creates ongoing pressure on the cervical nerves. Getting the right diagnosis is what determines which treatment actually works.
Chiropractic Adjustments
When neck pain comes on suddenly — from a car accident, a sports injury, sleeping wrong, or hours at a desk — chiropractic care is often the fastest path to relief. Dr. Fischer uses precise cervical adjustments to restore proper alignment, reduce joint restriction, and release the muscle guarding that causes stiffness and limited range of motion.
Most patients with acute neck pain experience significant improvement within a few visits. Addressing it early also helps prevent acute episodes from becoming chronic conditions.
Learn About Chiropractic Care →Non-Surgical Cervical Decompression
When neck pain keeps returning, radiates into the arms, or is accompanied by numbness and tingling in the hands, the underlying cause is usually a cervical disc problem. Herniated and bulging discs in the neck create pressure on the cervical nerve roots — and that pressure doesn't resolve with adjustments alone.
Dr. Fischer uses the DRX spinal decompression system to precisely target the affected cervical segments. By unloading the disc and creating the conditions for convective fluid exchange through the vertebral endplates, the therapy allows the disc to rehydrate and supports the body's own repair process. For patients with confirmed cervical disc pathology, this is often the treatment that finally produces lasting results.
Learn About Spinal Decompression →Are You a Candidate for Cervical Decompression?
Decompression therapy may be right for you if your neck pain involves any of the following:
- Herniated or bulging disc in the cervical spine confirmed by MRI or X-ray
- Pain, numbness, or tingling that radiates into the shoulders, arms, or hands
- Cervical degenerative disc disease or spinal stenosis
- Neck pain that hasn't resolved with other conservative treatments
- Desire to avoid cervical surgery or epidural injections
